The dog sledging adventure in Alaska is more than your moneys worth with its abundant wilderness, majestic mountains, wildlife and white winter scene.
When you think of Alaska, you think of the white wilderness, the pine trees and the beautiful Alaskan Huskies.

Most of them will let you choose your preferences, since this is a sport for the fit, it recognizes the fact that not all would be up to it.
Those with extremely high expectations are delighted that the experience exceeds even those extreme expectations.
The guides are knowledgeable and are always concerned about the environment, the dogs and of course the guests. The trail is great with wildlife in abundance and white snow till as far as your sight goes.
After you arrive at the lodge you are taken to get acquainted with the dogs and are given the equipment so that you learn about it and are comfortable with it.
Since the temperatures are much colder, the host themselves provide you with warm clothes that keep you cozy throughout your stay.
The dog sledge odyssey begins with a 5 mile stretch of cruise so that the dogs and you get acquainted with each other.
The lodge where you spend the first and last day of the trip overlooks the beautiful white Norton Sound.
The first day is spent traveling down towards Klikitarik which was once an Eskimo village and is a 25 mile long ride. Of which the 4 mile ride over the 4 ft thick ocean ice sends a shiver down your spine.
But the dogs are well trained and know the route and directions well; they know where to go and what should be avoided.
Whenever we stop over for the night the dogs are cared for and looked after. Since they are truly the hard workers of the trip.
The next day we headed towards the Golsovia River Lodge which is again a 25 mile long stretch of white wilderness with pine and coniferous trees along the way.
The journey has a 7 mile stretch that moves upwards, although not a steep stretch it definitely needs a lot of working and giving a little push with your feet whenever the dogs find it difficult, makes them respect you.
Here is where we all rest for a couple of days and take pleasure in other Alaskan activities like snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and looking out for wildlife.
Some common find are the hawks, falcons, wolves, moose, arctic fox, and eagles. The huskies are well trained, strong and very lovable making this adventure trip even more memorable.
The dog sledging trips are an incredible journey through the tundra region along with the glow of the Northern Lights, makes it an unforgettable experience.
