Discovering Shetland Islands Tourism

Discover Shetland islands tourism opportunities for yourself this year. You will be in fine company, for more and more people are heading north to discover that Shetland today is not a forgotten island group locked in its own past, but a dynamic gem where the North Sea and Atlantic Ocean meet.

This land of untouched landscapes and spectacular coastal scenery has more uninhabited islands than inhabited islands. Only 15 of the 100 or so isles have people on them, but those 15 islands have a world of diversity. Each is unique and different from the rest, but all are distinctly Shetland.

Shetland islands tourism initiatives over the years have paid off well. The northern isles are firmly on the North Sea cruise ship map with dozens of liners arriving every summer season, chiefly in Lerwick, the main town of the islands. However, most tourists arrive through the main transport links of air and sea.

The main airport at Sumburgh, twenty-five miles south of Lerwick lying just below impressive Sumburgh head with its iconic lighthouse, serves the majority of Shetland's air traffic. From Aberdeen there is a nightly ferry service to Shetland, with another leaving Lerwick also nightly.

Bird watching is one popular pastime here. The rugged coastal scenery with high many rearing cliffs make ideal homes to thousands of sea birds. Migratory bird also use these island as a convenient stop over on occasion, and sometimes very rare birds alight, only to be pursued by intrepid twitchers who only want to tick them off a list.

The islands are also ideal for freshwater angling as the land is dotted by a myriad of azure lochs where trout abound. Sea angling is also very possible from low lying rocks or one of the many sandy beaches.

Apart from three inhabited islands, all the islands are connected to Mainland, the largest island in Shetland, by an integrated inter-island ferry service. The ferry boats carry cars as well as passengers, which makes it the ideal way to explore with a car.

And if you have a love for nature and wildlife, keep a close eye on the ferry terminals, especially the stone built breakwaters, as these are beloved by otters who often explore the gaps between rocks, and swim among the long waving plantations of seaweed to be found there.

Shetland islands tourism opportunities are enhanced by excellent accommodation possibilities through out the islands. In the larger population centres there are splendid hotels and guest houses.

The villages in the more remote areas usually have a bed and breakfast or two, and there are a number of camping sites for those who enjoy that kind of life. Discover Shetland islands tourism opportunities for yourself and be amazed and the sheer diversity of it all.

Adventure Travel - Polar Vacation Adventure at Antarctica

Antarctica is cold, wild, frozen, bleak, hostile and far-flung continent. There are many rumors about Deception Island, sea-cruises and wildlife.

Very few are so daring and brave to explore the wilderness of the Antarctica. This land is barren yet covered from three sides by oceans. There are rumors about ice when there is not even snow-fall. The horse-shoe shape Deception Island tells many stories.

It is cold enough to freeze anything but the volcanic eruptions can blaze the surroundings with all supremacy. In huge icebergs and vastness there is no human to be seen. But this curiosity takes many adventurers in hand.

There are many thrillers and adventurer who plan Antarctica as their travel destination. Many people who are brave enough to take risk and enjoy the beauty of nature in coldness and iciness are most welcome to spend their vacations here. November and March are the best months to plan vacations because that time the sea-ice is melted and there is comparatively less cold with bit long daylight hours.

There is no human government in Antarctica only penguins enjoy their reign. There is a lot to see in Antarctica. The wildlife is the most stunning and marvelous beauty never to be found anywhere else.

You can find the ever spectacular polar bears, seals, Killer whales, fish, squids, krill and numerous varieties of seabirds. This is the best part of the earth so feel the novelty of wildlife in such a frost.

Antarctica is the loveliest place to spend vacations. Travelling is not supported through proper flights, landing directly in Antarctica. There are many small planes available for flights too but mainly the travelling is done via sea.

There are many huge and commercial ships which offers special tours to Antarctica, as discussed earlier the best vacation time is November and March because the crest of ice is bit thin to support the cruise ships. Many cruise ships do not offer direct landing to icebergs but small trips are often made during travelling so the vacationers can enjoy all the delights at full.

There are certain rules and regulations that are to be followed before making the adventures worth memorable. There are huge mountaintops, hills, icebergs and above all enormous and gigantic glaciers.

Antarctica makes the vacations fantastic. You can enjoy sea-cruising at first place then you can take all delights of wildlife, fishing and scuba diving is more than pleasing. There are many important sites which enthrall people with remains, remnants and shipwrecks. It is dream vacation to spend time in Antarctica.

Mt Everest Adventure

High above sea level, towers the Earth's highest mountain dividing both Nepal and Tibet. This mountain is known as Mt Everest in western culture named after Sir George Everest in 1865, the British surveyor-general of India. In Nepal Mt Everest is known as Sagarmatha meaning the goddess of the sky and in Tibet it is known as Chomolungma meaning the mother goddess of the universe.

Mt Everest is 8,840m high (29,029ft) and is the highest mountain above sea level. Arguably Muana Kea in Hawaii is debated to be the highest mountain at 10,200m (33,464) from its base however it is not considered the highest as it is only 4,205m (13,796 ft) above sea level.

In 1953 the first ascent was made by the courageous Sir Edmund Hillary of New Zealand and other records started shortly after such as the first woman to climb the summit in 1975 by Junko Tabei and then the first solo climb in 1980 by Reinhold Messner.

Mt Everest is one of nature's most challenging and most gratifying adventures. Once you reach the summit you will literally be standing on top of the world's highest peaks. There are many safety concerns when considering climbing Mt Everest and your fitness should be a major factor. However even novices can complete the climb but comes at the expense of hiring shirpas to help you reach your goal.

More to North Morocco Than Just Kitesurfing and Windsurfing

It is fair to say that the majority of visitors to Sidi Kaouki are there for one thing - the surf! The beach and small town of Sidi Kaouki sits 17 miles south of Essaouira, which is a popular area for holidays and kitesurfing and windsurfing in its own right.

It is easily accessible which is why so many people make their way to this secluded spot armed with their wetsuits, boards and sun cream. However, there is more to the area than just the vast open waters that crash into the soft sand beach.

Cafes, Souks and Accommodation

A vibrant community of cafes and souks provide ample refreshment and a true taste of a Moroccan village. In fact, a little further on from Sidi Kaouki is where you will find Diabat and the Jimi Hendrix Cafe.

Hendrix was indeed in this area in 1969 and you can sense the pride that the locals take in this fact. You will also find some excellent accommodation, and plenty of it, in the area. It is even possible to enjoy a spot of luxury at some of the places to stay.

Don't Forget the Great Surf

Yet, whilst we effuse about the merits of Sidi Kaouki away from the beach and sea, this is, after all, why so many people discover this charming pocket of northern Morocco. The area is famed for its glorious sunshine and strong winds. This is a perfect combination for windsurfing, kitesurfing or just surfing.

The waves are often rather large, presenting an inviting challenge to many established surfers but also, giving newcomers a great opportunity to experience the adrenaline of the sport. When the adventures on the waves are over the cafes and souks mentioned earlier wait with open arms and subdued lighting. This gives the area a charming and atmospheric edge.

Indiana - Indiana Dunes National Lake Shore

What's great about the Indiana Dunes National Lake Shore you ask? Well, here are a few things that make this park a popular vacation destination-

The park has a lovely sandy beach where you can sunbathe and watch the waves crashing on the shore. Agreed, this means doing nothing, but then a lot of people enjoy doing exactly that on their vacations. If you are one of those, you'll be spoiled with choices here. The park after all is full of places where you can relax and watch the butterflies flutter around.

Those who prefer a little more action can go swimming or fishing in the lake. The lake requires you to use your own discretion as lifeguards are offered at West Beach and the state park from 10:00a.m. - 6:00p.m only. For fishing you need a valid Indiana Fishing License and trout-salmon stamp.

You may also take a boating trip through the lake, but you must keep a 500 m distance from the swimming areas. While no launching spots are available in the park, nearby communities offer boat rental and launching facilities.

The park has all kinds of hiking trails from easy and moderate to challenging and strenuous. You can choose the ones that suit you best. Bailly Homestead & Chellberg Farm Trail (moderate), Cowles Bog Trail (moderate), Dunewood Trace (easy), Heron Rookery Trail (easy to moderate), Inland Marsh Trail (moderate), Ly-co-ki-we and Horse Trail (moderate), are some of the most popular trails in the park.

Horseback riding is allowed in the park on Ly-co-ki-we Trail from March 16 through December 14. However, when it snows enough, the trail is used for cross-country skiing in winters.

The lake also serves as a feeding and resting area for migratory birds, thus making it a popular spot for bird watching enthusiasts. Hawks, waterfowl and various species of wetland birds can be easily spotted here.

So, if you enjoy any of these activities or are generally looking for a relaxed and laid back vacation, the Indiana Dunes National Lake Shore would be perfect for you.

Botswana is famous for its rich wildlife reserves and parks. The main tourist attractions in Botswana Safaris include Okavango Delta Region, the Kalahari reserve and Chobe National Park.

Among the national parks and game reserves, Okavango Delta which is a group of lagoons, lakes and channels spreading an area of 17,000 square km, is the world's largest inland delta.

Moremi Game Reserve is home to more than 500 species of birds and a large array of wildlife including buffalo, giraffe, lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dogs which you will encounter in Botswana Safaris. Though Central Kalahari reserve is accessible throughout the year, its accessibility is limited or restricted.

It is the settlement place of a nomadic tribe known as Bushmen who have been occupying the area for thousands of years. No accommodation or any other facilities are offered in this area and visitors are only allowed to view the site.

Chobe national park is the next most important tourist attraction in Botswana after the Okavango Delta. It lies on the banks of the river Chobe. Apart from the natural bird inhabitants, many migrants visit this park every year. There is so much to see in Chobe national park and visitors normally include this destination along with Victoria waterfalls and Okavango Delta.

Horseback safaris and elephant safaris are also tourist attractions in Botswana Safaris. Apart from visiting all the important tourist attractions in Botswana Safaris, you will also be able to enjoy game drives where you will be taken in four wheelers to see various animals and bird species. During night drives, you can even spot some special mammals which you cannot see during the day.

Activities You And Your Family Can Enjoy During Your Holidays To Lanzarote

The exceptionally warm and dry weather of Lanzarote contributes largely to the incredibly fast growing popularity of the island among the tourists and it is little wonder that you have come to this site looking for information regarding Holidays To Lanzarote.

With a low level of rainfall, Lanzarote the fourth largest and most eastern of the Canaries group of islands enjoys a wonderful warm weather all-year round. The number of tourists visiting the island, either holiday-maker or sports enthusiasts is over a million every year.

But amazingly, despite the heavy numbers of tourists arriving and a wide array of hotels, restaurants and shops sprouting in the island to cater for them, Lanzarote has been able to maintain its laid back and relaxed atmosphere you might be looking for.

The laid back non tourist trap feel is due mainly to the strict implementation of its building and infrastructures plan, restricting the bulk of the tourists to the three main resort areas in one part of the island while keeping the other part as a rural idyll.

Though the south is the busier part because of the sprawling line of hotels and shops teeming with visitors, you will still be amazed at how organized and planned the infrastructures are. High-rise villas and infrastructure is discouraged, so generally, you will find an array of low-rise villas, none taller than a palm tree and mostly with a garden of tropical plants and flowers. Most villas are also furnished with a homely touch, a very ideal spot if you want to have peace and calmness on your vacation getaway.

Aside from being a peaceful paradise, there are actually a vast number of activities you'll enjoy while in Lanzarote. There are the numerous water sport activities that Lanzarote is famous for and you can go biking, horse riding, play golf or tennis, or if you are interested in history and culture, there are lots of excellent places worthy of a visit.

You can check the amazing Cactus Garden, there are over 1,400 various types of spiny cactus species that will surely fascinate you. The garden is actually a former quarry, transformed into an astonishing garden by the famous Spanish/ Canary Island artist Cesar Manrique who added unique artistic details. Lanzarote surely owes to Manrique most of its artistic tourist spots which have placed Lanzarote on the artistic historical map of the world.

As for getting around I definitely recommend that you get yourself a rented car if you plan to explore most of the wonders of Lanzarote.

The list of activities to indulge and enjoy during your Holidays to Lanzarote does not end when the sun goes down. There are lots of bars and clubs proving the party is still ongoing, with entertainment provided by live entertainments, from both local and foreign artists and performers, you can party the night out until 2 a.m. There are also Licenced Casinos that are open until 6 am. Certainly, you're going to have a great time during any Holidays to Lanzarote.

Morocco Hiking

Many people perceive these days that Morocco hiking in Mount Toubkal typically results to the kind of leisure or enjoyment of a lifetime. The 4,167-meter mountain has a joint scoot and jaunt which resembles the world-renowned Atlas Mountain.

Every year, thousands of people fail to reach the peak of Mt. Toubkal due to lack of preparation and lack of information on safety or precautions. Only few people have successfully reached the peak today. If you want to count yourself as one of the people who have reached Mt. Toubkal's peak, there are effective ways on how you can do it.

You must have all the things you need when you will go on a Morocco hiking. The things must include hiking poles and boots, clothing made from layered materials, yak tracks or snow crampons, camera, water and mountain hiking guide. You can also seek assistance from a hiking tour operator.

The operator will help you set up your guide and strategies in reaching the peak of Mt. Toubkal. In beginning the first hiking strategy, you must have transportation from Marakkech to Imlil areas. You can also start your hiking strategies in other towns near Marakkech and Imlil.

Head along to the river areas with your Morocco hiking guide and mules. The river situated in Mt. Toubkal perpendicularly runs between Imlil and nearby towns. You need to take a slow walk in the woods located along the river.

You must be able to reach the mountain's base camp afterwards. Today, there are two refuges in the base camp which is the older base and the latest which was just recently finished. It will take you about 6-9 hours before you can finally reach the base camp they call "Neltner."

For you to be able to reach the peak of Mt. Toubkal, you must leave the base camp at early morning. Most hikers leave at around 5 AM and were able to reach the peak in just 5 hours.

The Maldives Are the Ultimate Destination for Divers

You may have heard of the Maldives, an island nation located near the equator in the Indian Ocean, but you may not be aware of what an amazing location it is for those who love diving. The Maldives is made up of 26 atolls running north to south, about 700 km to the southwest of Sri Lanka.

The islands are actually the tops of an undersea mountain range and spread out over 90,000 square kilometers. Of the 1,192 islets that make up the Maldives, about 200 are inhabited. The population is greatest in the city of Malé, the capital city, and this is where most Maldives vacations begin, because of the international airport located there.

Over 80% of the land in the Maldives is made up of coral islands, composed of both living coral and coral debris from around 200 different species of coral. The coral reefs act as a protective barrier against the sea, forming numerous lagoons.

The barrier reefs protect the Maldives from higher waves off the Indian Ocean, making for some of the best diving on earth! The array of sea life you can see on a Maldives holiday is astounding, with not only corals, but more than 2,000 different fish species, including eagle rays, stingrays, reef sharks, and species that have not even been classified yet.

April to October is the rainy season in the Maldives, the season of the moist, southwest monsoons. The temperature year-round is nearly constant, with overnight lows around 25 degrees C (77 Fahrenheit) and daytime highs around 30 degrees C (86 degrees Fahrenheit). Nearly constant cool sea breezes keep the warm climate from being uncomfortable.

The first tourist resorts in the Maldives didn't open until the 1970s, but between then and 2007, over 8 million people visited the nation, and a large percentage of those visitors went for the amazing diving experiences.

Usually visitors arrive at Malé International Airport, which is served by flights from Southeast Asia, Dubai, Doha, and Sri Lanka. The Gan Airport on the atoll of Addu, is served by international flights to Milan several days a week.

A diving safari in the Maldives is the ultimate vacation for the person who loves diving. The sheer extent of the waters that can be explored is amazing, and you can book liveaboard diving safaris in which you live on-board cruise ships, cruising the atolls and finding the very best diving spots to explore, under the guidance of Maldivian dive instructors.

Package holidays are available that cover airport transfers to and from the cruise ship. For liveaboard diving, a minimum of a PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent certificate is required, with a PADI Advanced Open Water certificate preferred so that the diver can dive up to 30 meters along with the rest of the group.

Divers undergo an initial check guide to check out gear and for the dive guide to assess diving abilities in the group. For divers who would like extra dive support, guided dives can be arranged, usually for a cost of around US$10 per dive.

Maldives diving is the best anywhere, and a diving safari in the Maldives is the ultimate diving vacation. The Maldives as a nation is focused on making diving holidays the best anywhere in the world. There's no question that the coral reefs, the beautiful tropical waters, and the huge array of sea life make the Maldives the best destination on earth for an unforgettable diving vacation.

Choosing Your Destinations and Itinerary for European Travel

Many Americans and people from other countries have an urge to travel to Europe at some point in their lives. After the initial excitement of deciding to go, many become overwhelmed at all that is involved in planning an itinerary.

Many of us hear stories and see pictures from other people's trips and want our trips to be like theirs or we make the mistake of assuming that everyone's trips to Europe look the same. We think of classic tourist points, such as the Eiffel tour, the Louvre and the Swiss Alps and imagine that we will visit all of these places.

However, the best thing you can do for yourself when planning is to make the trip unique to you. Don't place expectations on yourself, and don't compare your trip to those of others. Many people attempt to jam in attractions without taking the time to decide whether or not they are actually interested in going there.

Don't go somewhere just because you think you're supposed to. Ultimately, this is your trip, and if a place just doesn't interest you, you'd be best off to just admit it and erase it from your itinerary to free up time for the places you really want to see.

In order to make the best decisions for yourself, make sure to get as much information as possible first. Don't allow yourself to become overwhelmed with information, but know what is important and what is not.

This is best accomplished by giving yourself plenty of time to carefully consider each destination and plan out the mood of your trip. Don't allow yourself to come home and find out about a place you would have really liked to see but didn't know about.

In order to have an enjoyable trip that makes sense, it is very important to be realistic. If you aren't, you set yourself up for a hectic trip that doesn't turn out to be as enjoyable as you had envisioned and a lot of disappointment.

Remember not to compare your trip to others' and not to expect to do or see everything there is to see in Europe. This is very unrealistic, and it just may be a fact you are unable to go everywhere you ideally want to in one visit. That's okay.

You can always go back, and you would be happier having a trip where you genuinely want to be in each destination but have one or two you'd like to visit later than a trip spent going from one place to another so quickly that you don't have time to enjoy anything.

The three major factors in planning a Europe trip that makes sense are time, money and destinations. These are all equally important, and these factors are what make one person's European experience different from another's.

Some people choose to go to Paris for two weeks for a honeymoon and never see the rest of Europe. Others choose to backpack across the Alps. There are so many different possibilities, and deciding on these factors will help you plan an itinerary.

Start by figuring out how much time you have to spend in Europe and with a realistic assessment of your budget. This will determine how many destinations you can realistically visit for an enjoyable amount of time each. Then, make a list of places you absolutely must see on this trip, and look at a map to identify a practical plan.

The best way to enjoy your trekking is by booking with a genuine company for example AA safari in Uganda or a tour operator who will give you the best information for your trip. The accommodation ranges from budget to lavishness tents, camping with better facilities that will make your stay the best.

Many people wonder where the gorillas are suited, but take this from this me that majority are discovered in Rwanda, Uganda as well as Congo.

In Rwanda, the best places to explore these great animals are volcanoes national park as well as parc national park. These places well known to have about 350 mountain gorillas out of the 700.

Due to the war that took place in Rwanda, many of these mountain gorillas were affected, although today Rwanda is politically stable thus enabling gorilla trekking as well as the number of gorillas increasing.

Parc national, Des volcano can be accessible from Ruhengeri with glorious views of Muhabura, Mikeno, Sabyinyo, Visoke volcanoes as well as Gahinga Ruhengeri takes about 90 minute from Kanombe international Airport in Kigali.

In Uganda, Bwindi national park is the most prominent with a large population of Mountain Gorillas. It's situated in the Rukiga highlands adjacent to the western rift valley, this destination is well known for its gorilla trekking.

Bwindi impenetrable forest harbors about 600 mountain gorillas and impenetrable shows how this place has a dens vegetation along with rain forest that makes it the most suitable place for these animals.

In Congo, Djomba and Bukima are the most famous places for the mountain gorillas. Due to its instability, trekking has not been successful because of the violence that goes on day after day. The brave tourists are advised to take precautions so as to avoid any insecurity.

The most favorable age for trekking is about 15 to 80 years, these people are believed to have good health conditions. At this age, people are ready to adventure and experience the beauty of trekking.

To get access to these animals, you must be in small groups.People move together and you are not allowed to threaten the animals.Physical ability is one factor the tour operators consider before grouping travelers. The wet season is usually in the mouth of march to April as well as from October to November.Although its believed that the gorillas dwell in the rain forest thus it can rain at any time

Trekking is a bit hectic during the rainy season although its fun at the long run. Expect mud but accessible, These places are usually mountainous and are very cold thus you must pack heavy clothes that will give worth. Experience the beauty of Mountain gorilla trekking by visiting these great destinations.

Enjoy Trip to Muir Woods

If you are planning for a nature trip with your friends and family, you should consider visiting Muir Woods' forests. Also called as Virgin forest, is a forest where trees have attained great age. You will rarely see these types of trees elsewhere in the world due to its ecological features.

You would really enjoy this trip. This place is considered one of the old-growth forests in the country. When you visit this place, you will find some interesting coastal redwood trees which are very tall.

One of the best things about this place is its sound of nature. If you want to enjoy your stay there, respect and enjoy the silence of the forest, make sure to keep your voices down and tell your children too, if you are planning to bring them with you.

Muir woods are a poisonous place due to oaks and stinging nettles. Carry first aid box with you. Enjoy this beautiful place by listening to park ranger who will tell you the story of this place and will make you stay there more memorable and experiential. Different kinds of hiking trails are found in this place. Some are meant for families while some are made up of horseback riding.

Explore this place in summer or autumn when flowers and trees are in blooming stage. Avoid visiting this place in winter for the biting cold can make you uncomfortable. Carry all the necessary amenities like food, water, first aid and electronic gadgets with you. The thickets sometimes can cause you to get lost so bring a compass as well.

Muir woods are twelve miles north of San Francisco. You can take either US 101 or California Highway 1. If you notice roads are winding and steep as you enter the canyon which harbors this popular park. Public transportation will never take you into the park, but there are private tour buses if you don't want to drive.

Redwood trees are nearly 1000 year old that has reached heights of 260 feet tall. Due to its massive shade, wildlife isn't abundant here. You can see deer, chipmunks, newts and various birds. You'll also see other plants indigenous to the area.

As you reach the entrance of Muir woods, there will be a road which will take you to Muir beach. This breathtaking shoreline offers hikers an opportunity to rest or continue their exploration. You can visit this beautiful place either before or after you visit Muir Woods.

Your trip to California Muir woods would be an unforgettable part of your trip. You will never get a chance to touch such a piece of the world that lived before the American Revolution. It is worthwhile to visit any San Francisco residents or tourists.

Visit Arenal Volcano on Your Costa Rica Vacation

If you haven't seen an active volcano, visiting Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica is really an amazing site. Arenal Volcano is the most active volcano in Costa Rica and listed as one of the top ten most active in the world. Of course, you are not guaranteed to see any lava spewing from the top, but you will certainly see activity.

The rainy season corresponds to the summer months for those in the Northern Hemisphere and the volcano's peak is often covered in clouds during the afternoon and evening, which lessens your chance of seeing the lava at night.

However, during the rainy season the mornings are often very clear, which means early risers have a good chance of seeing the lava before the clouds roll in and will have great weather for morning hikes. Keep this in mind when you are planning a trip.

Even if you don't actually see lava, you will still be able to feel and hear the volcano rumbling, as well as see smoke billowing out the top of the crater. If you have binoculars you can spot rocks expelled from the top and watch them tumble down the flanks of the volcano.

Inside Arenal Volcano National Park, travelers can take a hike, guided or solo, through the rainforest to find the 1992 lava flow. Once you reach it, you can climb up the now gray trail and see the interesting lava formations.

Travelers to the region might also be interested in going kayaking on Arenal Lake, or taking a horseback ride through the rainforest to the base of the volcano to begin a canopy tour. This canopy tour is a series of 12 platforms and 10 zip-lines. It is very safe and pretty thrilling as you zip above the forest. All of these excursions make spotting sloths, tropical birds, and monkeys very likely.

Before you plan a trip, make sure you know which side of the volcano is most active. It changes every few years and you definitely want to stay in a hotel on the most active side to have the best chance of seeing lava.

Top Ten World Travel Destinations For Vagabonds

Top ten world travel destinations lists are pretty easy to find on the internet. There are lots of them too. Top ten world travel destinations for families, top ten travel destinations for adventure, top ten world travel destinations for business, etc. I figured it was time to throw out the ultimate top ten world travel destinations list.

Without any further ado, I introduce the Top Ten World Travel Destinations for Vagabonds. These are the top ten places where you can live cheap, travel easily, and move along whenever the mood strikes you.

1. Bohol, Philippines
2. Atlantic Coast of Morocco
3. Baja, Mexico
4. Sumatra, Indonesia
5. Southern France
6. U.S Pacific Northwest
7. Argentina
8. Eastern Turkey
9. Grenada, Spain
10. Laos

You'll notice that there are regions, cities, and even countries listed. That's because some places offer more than others and some places are just too fantastic to miss in your vagabond travels. For example, Bohol in the Philippines is just one of 7000+ islands, but it is filled with so many waterfalls, the chocolate hills, historic buildings, and gorgeous beaches that it stands out.

Not to mention most of Bohol is still cheaper than neighboring Boracay or Cebu. There were also many places that didn't make the list because they were close to those that did. For example, I didn't add British Columbia because it adjoins the U.S. Pacific Northwest.

The Atlantic Coast of Morocco is huge and offers surfing, kite boarding, exotic Moroccan flavors, and plenty of room to roam. Grenada on the other hand is a historic Spanish city filled with amazing monuments and cool laid back people.

Baja, Mexico brings you great Pacific surf and plenty of Mexican culture without being as high pressure as other parts of Mexico. Sumatra, Indonesia is huge and has a much lower population density plus volcanoes, orangutans, and jungle. Argentina is simply wonderful, cheap and beautiful. Modern and traditional.

Eastern Turkey offers you a look at historical ruins, Islamic culture, and all for a very moderate price. Laos is one of those places that you just have to visit. The people of Laos might be the kindest in the world.

Enjoy these destinations and submit your own to be included in the next list.

New - Touring Jaipur With Hot Air Ballooning

Elaborate structures exude the power and wealth of the Rajput - India's medieval kings. In order to absorb the romance and charm of the palaces, forts, and mansions of Rajasthan, you can take a special Jaipur tour. Try taking a special tour like the hot air balloon safaris.

Jaipur's name comes from its founder Jai Singh II, who was given the title of Sawai Maharajah by the Mughal Emperor. Sawai Maharajah roughly translates in one and a quarter-an acknowledgment that Jai Singh's greatness exceeded that of one man.

Though Amber was the original capital, water shortages for the exploding population made relocation necessary, so Jaipur was founded approximately 11 km away.

Renowned Bengali architect Vidhya Bhattacharaya was consulted by the king to design the city as a thriving residential and commercial center and Jaipur became India's first planned city.

Today the grid style layout designed over two hundred years ago is still evident and especially impressive from the sky. Many merchants adhere to classic traditions, selling their goods in specific locations determined by their trade and merchandise.

Many of Rajasthan's most famous and influential families built their homes in Jaipur during the eighteenth century, and hundreds of these palatial homes still exist throughout the city-each one a complex blend of Rajasthani and Mughal style.

Places to See in Jaipur:

There's a lot to see in Rajasthan, and Sky Waltz' Jaipur tours are a comfortable time-efficient way to take in this historic city. Some of the attractions, you can enjoy include:
Justify Full
• The Amber Fort-the traditional capital shines amidst low hills of scrub and bush like an architectural jewel.
• Jaigarh Fort-the center of artillery production for the Rajputs; it remains home to the world's largest cannon on wheels, the Jaivana.
• City Palace-the marble two-storey Chandra Mahal palace now houses a museum, but the greater part remains a royal residence.

The sites of Jaipur are truly endless, but the Pink City-a colour of hospitality in India-offers all the palaces, forts, and monuments any tourist could desire.

French Motorcycle Tour - LeMans to Montlucon

Having travelled 380 odd miles from England, 7 fellow motorcyclists and I had completed the first stage of our trip from London to Santander, Spain, and having spent our first night in leMans, France, we were up early to get ready for the next leg of our trip, to Montlucon, a distance of around 200 miles.

This day was to going to be a combination of picturesque back roads and motorways, which meant that it would probably mean about 6 hours riding.

There had been rain overnight and the forecast was not too promising. As we rode our bikes out of the underground hotel car park I was not relishing the prospect of bad weather, particularly as I hadn't ridden much in the wet in recent years, and my bike, a Triumph Rocket 3 Classic was brand new and with lots of shiny bits!

As we were waiting outside the hotel for everyone to get ready, we noticed an ambulance crew wheeling out a dead body from one of the flats adjacent to the hotel. It was a sobering reminder of our own mortality.

As we headed through town, the roads were drying out nicely and the cloud looked like it was clearing, which I personally found reassuring, and soon we were out heading for that famous piece of race track, the 3.7 mile Mulsanne straight, or Ligne Droite des Hunaudières to give it its French name.

It felt great to ride along this famous stretch of public road, which felt distinctly un-race track like given the houses and hotels that line the route. The only way you could tell it was a race track was because the road is lined with Armco barriers.

Having stopped for fuel, we then headed for Richelieu, hometown of the Cardinal of "The Three Musketeers" fame. Whilst the book is a work of fiction, Cardinal Richelieu is not; indeed he became Prime Minister of France in 1624.

The town itself is surrounded by 4 walls and entered through magnificent arches. We decide to stop for lunch in the main square.

By this time the sun had decided to make an appearance, and the temperature was around 25 degrees, which made riding pleasant.

The Rocket had been a joy to ride even through the country lanes. It is by no means a "knee down" bike, and indeed you will get caught out if you try to ride it that way. The secret seems to be to push hard on the straights, but to carefully study the road ahead paying particular attention to vanishing points and setting it up before entry into bends.

The massive rear tyre does squirrel around on uneven surfaces, being so wide it is subject to severe tracking in any ruts in the road, but you soon get used to this and gently leaning the bike over and letting it do its own thing inspires confidence.

We arrived at our hotel in Montlucon, an unprepossessing town at about 5.00pm and after storing the bikes in the underground car park, headed in for a shower and a well deserved beer.

There was a government Orange official weather warning for the next day, which was ominous.

The Top Amateur Sports In Texas

Texas has a lot of action when it comes to amateur sports. The amateur sports circuit here in fact is very professional and boasts of some of the best athletes and sportsmen the country has to offer. Many of the Texan sports figures who went on to become nationally and internationally renowned had a major part of their career devoted to the amateur circuit.

The amateur circuit actually works as a go between for the training level and the professional level. One cannot just directly go to the professional level without some experience in how to do things professionally.

This is where amateur championships and rankings come in handy. It is a good sandbox to test out the skills and get used to the national pro circuit regulations, which are followed religiously in the amateur circuit.

One of the main segments of amateur sports in the state is the amateur athletics. Amateur athletics in the state consists of such sports as swimming, baseball, softball, basketball, adult kickball, boxing, cheer leading and more.

The TAAF (Texas Amateur Athletics Federation) holds regular championships to show off these athletes and give them a chance to compete with each other at a pro-amateur level.

Athletes from most of these games go on to become professional players in the national circuit and TAAF helps them at it by doing things such as maintaining rankings and regulating the sports. It is a non-profit body and all income beyond the running costs go to a charity.

Bowling is yet another amateur sports that is as famous in Texas as it is all over the United States. There several bowling championships, both local and state level ones, held at regular intervals here. You will find bowling enthusiasts in almost every town and getting involved is as simple as just walking in to a bowling arena and start chatting people up

Texas is home to national level championship golf courses and the golfing scene here is pretty big, There are several golf courses to be found in most cities in Texas and it makes for a really great experience for amateur golfers.

You will find a lot of exciting and challenging golf courses in all of the main Texan cities and amateur level championships to participate in. Golf is in fact part of the TAAF collection of athletics.

Another popular form of sports that is practiced diligently at the amateur level is Combative sports. The combative sports includes Wrestling, Kickboxing, Mixed Martial Arts and more. These too are regulated by certain governing bodies and follow the rules and regulations set by national and international regulatory authorities.

The amateur sports in Texas is thus quite the elaborate scene. If you are an amateur sports fan, a scout or a fellow enthusiast, you will find your peers in Texas. Sports fans will have an especially great watching the amateur sports displays and the various championships that are held around the year.

Canoeing in the Alps

My partner and I joined up with our local Canoe Club trip to Guillestre. In the Alps this August, the area is renowned for its white water kayaking opportunities and whilst exploiting this was the focus of the club trip. We had also taken our Old Town Packs along to see what the area had to offer the canoeist.

We managed to canoe several sections of the stunning Durance River whilst we were there. Our trips included paddling from the lower Guile to the bottom of St Clements and with the exception of the St Clements slalom course this is a gentle grade one paddle which takes in some of the absolutely stunning scenery of the Durance valley.

If you are looking for a more challenging single bladed paddle I would recommend the aptly named Sunshine run, also on the Durance this trip runs from St Clements down to Embrun. It is worth noting that this run includes the Rabioux wave, but you can always portage this if you wish.

After the rest of the club had gone home, we paddled the Durance from St Crepin to St Clement with my active partner doing the shuttle on his mountain bike. This made for a slightly longer grade one trip and the cycle ride back to the van was very scenic too.

Later in the week we had a great day paddling and exploring on Embrun Lake, we spent the day canoeing in and out of the coves on the end of the lake towards the Ubbaye Gorge. I used this opportunity to do some swimming and practice my deep-water rescues.

This lake would be a superb venue for a romantic multi day expedition in some stunning scenery with great weather almost guaranteed.

This is a superb area for active people whether they are into white water kayaking or canoe touring, so I hope to see more canoeists out there next year.

Bicycle Tour of The Grand Canyon

I really appreciate my bicycle tour of the Grand Canyon. My friends and I rented bicycles from Bright Angel and took an amazing tour of the canyon. Moreover, it was much cheaper than routine tour.

I like to ride bicycles very much, but it is impossible to take my bicycle with me on vacation. Fortunately, there were bicycle rentals at the South Rim of Grand Canyon. So I chose this way to see many beautiful scenic spots there.

The canyon is always full of travellers and tour buses, but I do not need to worry about heavy traffic. My bicycle can park at places that vehicles aren't allowed. This new bicycle rental operation has recently got a commercial use authorization.

So Bright Angel Bicycles will provide tourists with different bicycles at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center. Besides of usual bicycles, there are three-wheel adult bicycles and child trailers. The old and the young can go along with the family.

Travellers can rent bicycles from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and I think it is very convenient. I can ride on the park's multi-use greenway trails or other park roads open to large vehicles. The Hermit Road and the Yaki Point Road are also available.

When I had rented my bicycle, I also got a helmet, leg strap and safety vest, which can guarantee my safety to a large extent. As we made a detailed plan for this tour, we absolutely chose a self guided tour. But other tourists also have several options.

You and your bicycle can get to the Hermit Road by a shuttle, and then you can ride along the rim from Monument Creek Vista to Hermits Rest. This way will save you much energy so that you can fully enjoy the grand scenery.

And you can even hide a bicycle tour guide, and he or she will bring you a wonderful and healthy Grand Canyon bicycle tour. Though we didn't has a tour guide, each of us explained a scenic spot, so the tour was interesting, too. I took a lot of pictures of the canyon, and they witnessed my unforgettable tour.

One of the best regions for gorgeously scenic tress is in Perthshire, otherwise known as Big Tree Country. The top spots include the eastern end of Loch Tummel, the beech woods around Dunkeld & Birnam and the hillsides above Aberfeldy.

Head for the hills: The purples and pinks of Scotland's famous heather brings warmth to vast areas of hills and mountains at this time of year. An Groban, a fine hill just above Gairloch, is to be recommended. You'll need to be prepared for a decent walk to the summit and remember that even on sunny days in autumn it will be cold at the top of the hill. The views from the peak will, however, be well worth the effort of the climb.

A fabulous alternative is the Munro called Mayer in Angus. While the summit is 928m, this is one of the easiest Munros to summit. (Munros are the 283 mountains in Scotland with peaks of more than 914.4m/3000ft.) It's a long trek to the top but the ascent is an easy-going angle and the stunning views, especially in autumn, keep your mind off the hard work.

Go wild for food: With the right knowledge, there is so much wild food ripe for picking during late summer and autumn in Scotland. Blackberries can still be on offer, although the best of the wild crops at this time of year is mushrooms. Make sure you take a mushroom foraging expert with you or carefully refer to a good identification book (for example, Peter Jordan's Field Guide to Edible Mushrooms ).

There are several easy-to-identify wild-growing mushrooms in Scotland, including Brown Birch Boletus, Orange Birch Boletus, and Orange Peel Fungus. The taste of lightly fried mushrooms on toast after an autumnal walk has to be experienced to be believed.

Wild swimming: Believe it or not, the sea and most of the rivers in Scotland are at their warmest in autumn. Having had all summer to warm up, this is the season to take a plunge in a loch or river or even at the coast. For the bravest, only a swimming costume and a few brave steps are required. For others, pull on a wetsuit before going for your swim. A great beach for swimming is Big Sand Beach, near Gairloch. Do take care of tides and currents at this time of year, however, and always swim with another person.

Kite flying: Embrace those windier days in Scotland and head to a park or beach for a few hours of kite flying. These days there is a range of kites to suit all ages and aspirations from child-friendly single liners to stunt kites to adrenaline boosting kite-based pursuits such as kite buggying or surfing. St Andrews Bay beach in Fife is a great destination whether you want to simply spectate as others fly their kites or to enjoy your own kite flying adventure. Another less populated location is the many large, flat beaches of East Lothian.

Where will you choose for your autumnal adventure in Scotland?
