Tourist Attractions In Botswana Safaris

Botswana is famous for its rich wildlife reserves and parks. The main tourist attractions in Botswana Safaris include Okavango Delta Region, the Kalahari reserve and Chobe National Park.

Among the national parks and game reserves, Okavango Delta which is a group of lagoons, lakes and channels spreading an area of 17,000 square km, is the world's largest inland delta.

You can encounter more than 400 species of birds and animals such as warthog, mongoose, bush babies, monkeys and tree squirrels, and for those who enjoy fishing there is a variety of places to fish. Only a few of these areas can be reached by roads and tourists normally arrive at the camps of their choice by light aircrafts from Maun.

Moremi Game Reserve is home to more than 500 species of birds and a large array of wildlife including buffalo, giraffe, lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dogs which you will encounter in Botswana Safaris. Though Central Kalahari reserve is accessible throughout the year, its accessibility is limited or restricted.

It is the settlement place of a nomadic tribe known as Bushmen who have been occupying the area for thousands of years. No accommodation or any other facilities are offered in this area and visitors are only allowed to view the site.

Chobe national park is the next most important tourist attraction in Botswana after the Okavango Delta. It lies on the banks of the river Chobe. Apart from the natural bird inhabitants, many migrants visit this park every year. There is so much to see in Chobe national park and visitors normally include this destination along with Victoria waterfalls and Okavango Delta.

Kuru Museum and Cultural Center is famous for its dance and cultural festivals and exhibitions which are normally held throughout the year. This museum aims at sharing knowledge between the older and younger generations of the country and encourages tribal groups to get involved in their cultural activities. It is an important tourist attraction in Botswana.

Bird watching is another very important tourist attraction in Botswana Safaris. Botswana is the home to many endangered species of birds with over 575 species of birds. Gcwihaba Caves are one of the significant tourist attractions in Botswana Safaris.

Moreover, Nata Bird Sanctuary is the only protected reserve of the area where a variety of species of birds and mammals can be seen. Kubu Island is famous for its rich and wild baobab trees.

Victoria Falls are another wonderful tourist attraction in Botswana Safaris. Adventurous and sport loving visitors enjoy white water rafting, body boarding etc while less adventurous visitors enjoy simply walking through the national parks and viewing the magical beauty of Victoria Falls, which in itself is more than sufficient for a visitor.

Horseback safaris and elephant safaris are also tourist attractions in Botswana Safaris. Apart from visiting all the important tourist attractions in Botswana Safaris, you will also be able to enjoy game drives where you will be taken in four wheelers to see various animals and bird species. During night drives, you can even spot some special mammals which you cannot see during the day.
