Ranthambhore Wildlife - Nearest Wildlife From Delhi

Ranthambore National Park is in Sawai Madhopur District of Rajasthan state. It is located where Aravali and the Vindhyan hill ranges meet and this confluence gifted it with rich biodiversity. The park covers an area of around 400 sq km which is rich in exotic flora, fauna and avifauna collections.

Earlier this wildlife reserve was the hunting ground for the Maharaja of Jaipur which became a Wildlife Sanctuary in the year 1955 and entitled as National Park in 1981. Between this in 1973 the park came under 'Project Tiger' to conserve the depleting number of the tigers in the country.

Because of the amazing wildlife and rugged topography this wildlife reserve is most sought after destination for wildlife enthusiast and wildlife photographers. The park remains open every year from October to May and offers excellent accommodation and internal transport facilities during Ranthambore Tour.

Ranthambhore National Park is probably the best place in the world to see wild tigers and is the only dry deciduous tiger habitat in the world. It has a rich diversity of plants and animals with over 40 types of mammals, 320 species of birds both resident and migratory, 40 classes of reptiles, 02 amphibian species, 50 species of butterflies and 300 varieties of plants.

Beside tigers the other predators found in Ranthambhore tiger reserve are Rusty Spotted cats, Leopards, Caracals and more. Some of the most sighted mammals of this wildlife sanctuary are Blue bull (Nilgai), Wild boar, Sambhar, Chinkara (Indian gazelle), Spotted deer (Chital) and Wild Buffalo.

Ranthambore national parks organize many safaris to explore the speckled beauty of the Jungle. Some of the known safaris are Jungle safari, Jeep Safari, Canter Safari etc. but Canter Safari and Jeep Safari are two important safaris of this wildlife reserves which take tourists deep in the woods.

The Ranthambore Fort is located atop a hill in the middle of the forest and provides a breathtaking view of national park. This is the historical fort famous for its temple of Lord Ganesha. Tourists during their safari stay here for sometime so they can get bird's-eye view of the lush green surroundings.
