Yuksam to Dzongri Trek
This is one of the Sikkim treks which is suitable even for those people who are not physically strong to climb high altitude rigorous trails. One gets an opportunity to spot different species of flora and fauna on this route. Barking Deer, Musk Deer, Red Panda, Marbled Cat and Langur can be seen in the forests covered with Pine, Oak, Chestnut and Rhododendron trees.
Trip starts from Yuksam, located at a height of 1,740 meters and passes from Bakkhim, Phedang, Prek Chu river, Tshoka village and Laxmi Pokhri, before culminating at Dzongri. Dzongri is located at an altitude of 4,000 meters above sea level and is of historical importance to local people. On the way trekkers can take the beautiful views of Koktang, Rathong, Kabru, Simvo, Pandim and Khangchendzonga. You are bound to keep on gazing the pearl white peaks surrounding Dzongri.
Lachen to Green Lake Trek
On this trail of Sikkim trekking expedition, one has to pass through vast tracts in dense forests, covered by several species of flora and faun. Rhododendrons and Pine trees cover the entire trekking region along with several colourful flowers. There are also many waterfalls and streams on the way.
This trek in Sikkim starts from Lachen and one has to trek through Zema, Tallem, Jakthang, Yabuk before finally reaching Green Lake, located at an altitude of 4,935 meters above sea level. Beautiful views of mountain peaks like Kanchenjunga, Siniolchu and Simvu makes this trip really enjoyable to nature lovers. The months from April to June and from September to November are best to enjoy this Sikkim trekking expedition.
Uttarey to Kanchenjunga Trek
Uttarey, a small village located near to Nepal border, is the starting point of this trekking expedition. The trail passes through dense Rhododendron forests from Chewabhanjang, Dhor, Paharey Megu, Dophe Pass, Gomathang, Panding, Dzongri, Thansing, Samity Lake and reach Gocha La, the highest point at an altitude of 4.940 meters above sea level.
On this trek, one has to pass through rugged terrains amid dense forests covered with Pine trees, where different varieties of colourful birds can be spotted every now and then. These jungles are also habitated by some of the rare species of wild animals. View of green meadows and surrounding snow laden peaks makes trekkers more energetic to reach their final destination.
